Samuel L. Jackson Cast In Kite

In his time, director David R. Ellis has helmed Final Destination 2, Cellular, Shark Night and, um, Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco, but now he's got the toughest challenge of his career ahead of him: adapting the furiously violent and much-loved anime Kite into a live-action Hollywood thriller.Aiding him in his quest is Samuel L. Jackson, who previously worked with Ellis on Snakes On A Plane back in 2006. Jackson announced his involvement with the project while on promotional duties for Django Unchained, where he mentioned to Movies.com what he had on his slate after the RoboCop remake wraps."After [RoboCop], I'm going to do this live-action version of Kite, the Japanese anime," he said. "I'll be doing a live-action version of that in Johannesburg."Released in two parts before being edited together as a 60-minute piece for the US market, the 1998 anime told the tale of an orphaned schoolgirl called Sawa who sets about finding the killer who murdered her parents. Helping her are the two corrupt detectives on the case of the double homicide, Akai and Kanie, who take her in as guardians, and, um, [click here for the grisly details].Growing up to be a seriously bad-ass assassin, the resulting story is twisted and bloody and definitely one to keep an eye on, if only because chances are it'll be a tough one for the BBFC to put an 18 stamp on.Still, with Jackson and Ellis on board, it looks like it's actually, genuinely, definitely going to happen, which should herald the start of hundreds of thousands of anime aficionados crying into their chawan. Let the fanboy fury commence!

First trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim: watch now

Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro’s epic sci-fi actioner, has revealed a first trailer, which you can watch below. So far, the marketing team have played it relatively coy, with only a minimal amount of stills released. Things began to hot up with the release of some viral material (including some terrifying faux news footage of an attack on San Francisco), and the Pan Pacific Defense Corps was launched. Now, a full trailer’s been released, giving the world a glimpse of the carnage revealed at Comic-Con 2012.The premise is an easy sell: Jaegers (giant humanoid robots piloted by Earth’s finest) are called into action to fight off the global threat of incoming Kaiju (enormous monsters in the Godzilla vein). Sounds cool, right?Watch the Pacific Rim trailer below:There’s a genuinely terrifying scale to the action, with the set-pieces promising to be more visceral and involving than most films that contain giant robots. And the trailer’s jam-packed with cool touches, from a peek inside the workings of a Jaeger, to Idris Elba's sure to be immortal battle-cry, "Today we're cancelling the apocalypse!"An official synopsis has also been released:"When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju."On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse."

Pacific Rim opens in the UK on 12 July 2013.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Movie Online - Finally Hits Its Stride

I had been really psyched with this final film within the Twilight Saga. The very first Breaking Dawn did an excellent job of establishing the finale, though getting browse the books, I had been just a little curious regarding how some elements would experience screen. (WARNING: Spoilers from now on.) Around the page, the ultimate confrontation using the Volturi was just exciting on the mental level, as it is basically just a lot of random vampires of the underworld waiting for within the snow. However, the film does action fans a good by taking the information of the items Alice shows Aro may happen if he doesn't alter his plans. This by itself creates an engaging, tight sequence which will leave fans from the books screaming "NO! That did not happen!" Haha, works out they are right, but it is some awesome effects porn nevertheless. Lots of heads get twisted off, vamps and dire baby wolves (oops, wrong franchise- werewolves…) display their own fighting capabilities excessively, and also the very elements get attracted in to the fray. This is an Forex maven's dream.

However, there's lots of movie between your moment newborn vampire Bella opens her now-red-colored eyes which large-budget (and fully manufactured) confrontation, and it is a little of the mixed bag. In which the film stands out is within its depiction of Bella's adjustment to her new life-style, and Billy Burke hasn't made an appearance to become much more comfortable in Bella's skin as she does now. I don't know if this sounds like the main difference between Human Bella and Vampire Bella a lot as Stewart finally getting fun stuff to complete on the watch's screen, which of course there is little of previously films. Within the first film, Bella did not do much, besides bite her lip a great deal and nearly get (passively) wiped out a few occasions. In New Moon, she rode some motorcycles and attempted to (passively) kill herself a few occasions. In Eclipse, she reached punch Jacob (Rachelle Lefervre) but spent the majority of the movie being protected against every part, as well as in the very first Breaking Dawn she marry, were built with a baby, and sorta died. But none of them of the looked particularly fun to experience, in the manner that representing Bella like a vampire looks fun. Stewart looks to become really taking pleasure in herself, regardless of what Bella does this time around around. The lip-biting factor appears to become over, changed with a real smile. Bella, in succeeding as a fantastical creature, hasn't appeared more realistic.

http://cdn1.movieroomreviews.com/sites/movieroomreviews.com/files/imagecache/full_size_image/photos/twilight-saga-breaking-dawn-part-2-movie-picture-74.jpg

However, the film isn't without its defects. The passage-of-time voice-over Bella provides feels shateringly contrived, and the lack of Ashley Greene's Alice from the majority of the proceedings, though story- determined, leaves a large hole within the Cullen family dynamic. (I possibly could the same for Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, but he's been criminally underused on the watch's screen through the series anyway. TEAM JASPER!) All of the Volturi, except for Dakota Fanning's Jane, along with a couple of from the Cullens' vampire allies are overacted (though this really is light-shaded somewhat when Jacob notes to Bella the Transylvanian vampires of the underworld are "creepy" and it has a large laugh about this). But its this, Breaking Dawn Part 2 Movie online will get more right of computer flubs. Bella's enjoy her newly found capabilities is really a pleasure to watch, as she takes lower mountain lions, beats Emmett (Kellan Lutz) at arm-wrestling, and flings werewolves around like stuffed toys. You will find difficulties in how she changes to her condition- her longing for human bloodstream, as seen when she and Edward (Taylor Lautner) accidentally encounter the mountain climber, scares her believe it or not challenging is when she copes with keeping her father, Charlie, in her own "new" existence while being not able to inform him the entire story (as always, Billy Burke's Charlie will get some funny lines), and also the very natural rage she gets when she discovers Jacob has imprinted on her behalf baby daughter. Bella's motherhood feels credible despite her youthful age and her daughter's rapid growth. Mackenzie Foy is charming and ethereal as Renesmee, whose expereince of living, via a misunderstanding, brings about the wrath from the Volturi, and with a special ability of her very own. Not to mention, since at its core The Twilight Saga is Bella's and Edward's love story, there's some with taste presented sex, handled less awkwardly compared to the very first Breaking Dawn.

Overall, the film would be a satisfying ending for that franchise, which finally arrived to its very own with this particular installment. It has been a lengthy trip, however the series saved the very best for last. As well as for individuals suffering a withdrawal from movies based on the whole shebang of Stephenie Meyer, this spring we've the film form of The Host to anticipate. Different world and figures, however the first trailer looks good. So cheer up, fans! The SeriouslyFluffy Final Grade: A-

WB denies 'Hobbit' HFR causing dizziness

Warner Bros. is feeling a bit queasy over reports of nausea and dizzyness at high-frame-rate screenings of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."
Studio, which opens Peter Jackson's movie on Dec. 14, issued a statement in reaction to a report in the United Kingdom's The Sunday Times in which one anonymous viewer complained of a migraine headache after viewing the film at the New Zealand premiere at 48 frames per second  --  twice the usual rate. Another compared the movie experience close to a rollercoaster ride.
Though the virtual camera moves have been described as vertiginous at times, there's no physiological reason that a higher frame rate should make anyone feel sick.
"We have been screening the full-length HFR 3D presentation of 'The Hobbit: An Unexepected Journey' extensively and feedback has been extremely positive, with none of thousands who have seen the film projected in this format expressing any of the issues described by two anonymous sources in media reports," Warner Bros. said. "We share the filmmakers' belief that by offering filmgoers the additional choice of HFR 3D, alongside traditional viewing formats, they have an opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking advancement in the moviegoing experience and we look forward to having audiences everywhere share in this new way of storytelling."
Warner Bros. decided in August that for Jackson's first "Hobbit," the HFR version will go out to only select locations. Test footage was shown this April at CinemaCon, which had not yet undergone post-production polishing and got a mixed reception from exhibitors.

'Let Fury Have The Hour' Poster: What Kind Of World Do You Want To Live In?

What kind of world do you want to live in? It's a pretty loaded question, however, a new documentary from filmmaker/author Antonino D’Ambrosio will look to answer it.

From CAVU pictures, "Let Fury Have the Hour" attempts to examine the counter-culture of 2012, through the artists, actors, musicians and writers who know it best. The film includes interviews with everyone from Chuck D to guitarist Tom Morello to comedian Lewis Black, waxing poetic on how they've been able transform the anger and emotions of an entire generation into provocative works of art.

Here, Moviefone is happy to debut the official poster for the documentary, which you can see in full below. The print was designed by artist Shepard Fairey, who's best known for creating the Barack Obama "Hope" poster during the 2008 presidential campaign.

"Let Fury Have the Hour" will be released on December 14 in New York and on January 25 in Los Angeles. Additional dates are expected to be announced soon.

Hemsworth Not An American Assassin

Red Dawn - Chris HemsworthLooks like the team trying to drag Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp character to the screen are going to go back to the casting drawing board. For while Chris Hemsworth had been in talks to make the journey from Asgard to the role of the young Rapp, Deadline reports that he’s turned down the offer.American Assassin, which is sourced from Flynn’s Rapp novels, would chronicle the early years of the central hero, when he was a college athletics scholar. When a terrorist attack kills someone close to him, he signs on to hunt bad guys for the CIA.The film has Jeffrey Nachmanoff set to direct from a script currently credited to Mike Finch. And Bruce Willis apparently remains in negotiations to play Rapp’s mentor at the agency.Hemsworth had been considering the idea of starring, but his increasingly busy schedule proved to be the roadblock. He’s currently close to finishing work on Thor: The Dark World, then he’ll move onto Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse. After that, he has a little movie called The Avengers 2 likely to eat up a chunk of his free time.So while we can't write our threatened "Rapp Star" headline just yet, it's coming people... It is inevitable.

Watch The Dark Knight Rises Movie Online - A satisfying conclusion to a classic trilogy

What is fundamentally the most impressive thing about The Dark Knight Rises is that director Christopher Nolan approached the project with the intention of creating a satisfying conclusion to the story built up in the previous two films, and that is exactly what this film is. The film fulfils its very goal, and is an incredibly satisfying ending to the story. If you are unwilling to accept this before seeing the film, you probably won't enjoy the film as much as I did.

Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight Gotham is enjoying a period of peace built on the lie which is 'The Harvey Dent Act', a lie which has eaten away at Bruce and Gordon for the last eight years. Gordon has been left to clean up Gotham without Batman's help, and Bruce has become a physically and mentally traumatised hermit living within the rebuilt Wayne Manor, confined to using a cane as a result of doing nothing for all that time. What is an instantly recognisable change from the film's predecessors is the speed in pacing, the film beginning with a brief speech by Gordon, moving on to an impressively visual and ambitious prologue sequence, then swiftly moving to a celebration at Wayne Manor in which the film introduces a number of new characters. Despite this fast-pacing and new-cast onslaught, the story felt like it was moving far too slowly, and I wondered when something was actually going to happen. Fortunately, both of these flaws can be explained, my instantly negative reaction to the fast-pacing being a negative in human nature as opposes to the film- this unforeseen change actually serves the movie well, allowing Christopher Nolan to make three hours fly-by. The slow-start soon picks up, and I understand it was a good, realistic decision to hold off on putting Bruce back into the bat-suit too early in the film, as the film's premise is questioning whether Batman should return, and what consequences this action will have. The onslaught of new characters does feel like they have been forced down the audience's throat, and non are given any real affective role to play, however the final resolve reveals all characters are fundamental to the plot.  In other words, patience whilst to watch The Dark Knight Rises Movie is the right thing to have.

http://cdn.mos.totalfilm.com/images/w/watch-the-new-the-dark-knight-rises-trailer-4-online-now-105858-470-75.jpg

My personal enjoyment of the film was not derived by the film itself so much as certain aspects of the film, namely Tom Hardy's outstanding portrayal as the villain Bane and the character in general. I had high hopes for Bane, being a fan of Hardy's work prior to watching the film, but being confident the character would not be as successful as Heath Ledger's untouchable performance as The Joker. Having watched the film I found Bane to be far more intriguing than I previously predicted as well as being just as quotable and thrilling to watch as The Joker, though Bane is a completely different kind of villain, the focus being on physical intimidation, sheer intelligence and his level of control over people. Though Hardy's performance is not at the same level as Ledger's and his performance is restricted by a mask covering half of his face, but his performance is anything but restrictive, an emphasis on physicality, conveying intimidation through body movements and emotion through his eyes, as well as a wonderfully memorable and unnerving voice, which has unfortunately been over-edited in post production. As well as the performance, Bane's origin story, or at least what little we learn from the film, is very intriguing; however I would have liked more emphasis on the character's origin , as Bane is, like all Batman's villains, a version of Batman himself. Anne Hathaway's performance as Selina Kyle can also not be commended enough, giving the best Selina Kyle/ Catwoman to date, her performance perfectly fitting in with Nolan's realistic vision of the character, her feisty yet sexy performance stealing each scene with elegance as Hardy steals it with intimidation.

Previous speculation and hype have given great expectation to the film being a revelatory masterpiece in terms of storyline. I always felt this sounded like a risky approach, and whilst there are moments of plot revelation, the film is never pretentious of itself, Nolan keeping true to his word of creating a story-based final instalment. Like the previous two, The Dark Knight Rises is an art-house movie posing as a summer blockbuster, the real focus being on the script and story, the action aiding the storyline- the exact opposite of a Michael Bay film. Watch The Dark Knight Rises Movie Online never insults the intelligence of the audience and, like Inception, expects the audience to keep up. In other words, Nolan has so much respect for his audience that he created this film with the idea that the audience is as his intelligent as himself. It is a wonderful story-based film, not overly-pretentious of itself whilst keeping viewers on edge the entire 2 hours and 45 minute run-time. Personally, I found this flew by, and would have gladly sat through at least another hour.

It has its flaws, and though I hate to say it, is not above criticism, but when truly appreciated for what it is, The Dark Knight Rises is a great film, and a poetic but satisfying conclusion to a classic trilogy, an emphasis on story as opposed to a revelatory-filled epic. Nolan has created not only the best 'Batman' movies ever made, but a classic trilogy that should be viewed first and foremost as art-house movies, secondly as Batman movies. The final chapter will leave you emotionally drained, but satisfied by the conclusion, as opposed to feeling exhausted by an overly-pretentious epic finale.
